The Wake was a big success - A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL WHO DONATED BOOKS AND TOYS, AND WROTE EULOGIES!

And of course a BIG SHINY THANKS to Alan Tudyk who was such a sport and stopped by and read the winning eulogy!

On Saturday evening at Dragon*Con '06 in Atlanta, SEBC and Atlanta Browncoats had a Wake for Wash and Book and asked Browncoats to donate plastic dinosaurs and children's books for charity. We also held a eulogy contest!

Books and toys continued to be dropped off at the SEBC booth and by Monday we were making multiple trips to the car! Here's a breakdown of all the generous items that Browncoats from all over donated. These were all given to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

* 162 children's books
* 113 plastic dinosaurs (from little to big!)
* 13 misc toys
* and 1 Firefly and 1 Serenity DVD

In addition, around 45 used books were given which will be donated to a downtown children's homeless shelter in Atlanta. (CHOA does not take used items, so we're looking for a suitable charity that does, stay tuned!)
